Remember the first time we got high?
It was perfect fall weather in July.
Twenty past midnight, but slightly unconcerned about the time.
Remember the snow falling gently?
It always settled itself on the dirty concrete,
and then the sun started to rise and we were slightly more aware about the time.

drinking Colt 45's, going broke and always working overtime.
Well I guess I'm doing fine on my own, but we both know that's a lie.

We tried to savor the hits to preserve the good times
Drinking whisky and rye, like the song, but just a little bit off time
And it's been a rough year in the Northeast,

But, I did a drive by past the restaurant we would frequent all the time.
Yeah, I ordered the same thing, but the food just didn't taste as good this time.
